Entry requirements
For Undergraduate students: High School Diploma with unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.8. If you do not meet this criteria, they can submit SAT, ACT, or AP scores. SAT (minimum score of 1200), ACT (composite score of 24 or above), or 2 Advanced Placement (AP) exams at grade 3 or above.
For Postgraduate students: Relevant Bachelor's degree with cumulative GPA of at least 2.8. If you do not meet this criteria, we may still evaluate your application based on portfolio, audition, additional written academic work, or interview.
Applications, dates and deadlines
For September intake, we generally recommend applying before March 31 each year, but we will accept applications all the way until June 30 for most programmes, pending space availability.

Standardized testing
Standardized tests are not required for admissions, but can be submitted. If you do not meet at least a 2.8 unweighted cumulative GPA, we will require standardized tests (see policy above).

Student Life and Support
Student life and location
BIMM offers a close-knit, collaborative community centred on music and the creative industries. Its campuses are located in major cultural cities (including London, Brighton, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Berlin) giving students access to live venues, festivals, studios and creative employers. Students can participate in performances, industry projects, masterclasses and student-led clubs and societies, including DJ, songwriting, LGBTQ+, film, sports and social groups. Housing and support
BIMM does not operate its own residence halls. In the UK, students can use BIMM’s accommodation portal to explore private student residences, shared housing and other rentals; Berlin students receive guidance on private residences, apartments and Wohngemeinschaften (shared flats). Students should begin searching early, especially in Berlin and smaller or highly competitive UK cities such as Brighton and Bristol. Student Support provides academic and learning assistance, disability and neurodiversity accommodations, well-being guidance and counselling referrals. International students also receive practical support with settling in, visas and local healthcare; health insurance is mandatory for students living in Germany. Careers and Outcomes
BIMM’s Creative Futures team provides individual career guidance, CV and portfolio support, interview preparation, business and freelance advice, employer events, and access to internships and work placements. Students also build practical experience through performances, productions, festivals, collaborative projects and masterclasses with working professionals. Every student has the opportunity to undertake a work placement during their course, with support from the careers team.
Graduate pathways include employment, freelance and portfolio careers, further study, and entrepreneurial work across performance, production, songwriting, management, events, film and related creative fields. Information for Counselors
BIMM bachelor’s degrees follow the UK model: students normally complete a focused, three-year honours degree and study their chosen creative discipline from the beginning, with less general education than at a US university. US applicants are ordinarily considered with a high school diploma and a minimum 2.8 GPA; students below this threshold may submit qualifying SAT, ACT or AP results. Applicants should provide transcripts, final graduation documents when available, and valid passport prior to enrollment. Most courses also require an audition, interview, portfolio review or recorded submission, so students should carefully follow the course-specific preparation guide.
